From Morrisburg, Ontario (Canada), Austin graduated from Seaway District High School in 2010. He played for the Brockville Bunnies from 2005-2010. After high school, Austin attended and played for Lackawanna College located in Pennsylvania from 2011-2013. A highlight while attending Lackawanna College, was gaining entry into the Division II Baseball World Series, a feat that had never been achieved before by this Northeastern Junior College.
Austin would continue on to Limestone College in South Carolina where he would play from 2013 to 2016 and where he received the Offensive Player of the Year award in 2015. Austin would also play for the Capital City Reds during the summer of 2015.
Austin moved onto playing professionally this year where he has played for the California City Whiptails, the Tucson Saguaros, and the Ottawa Champions. Austin’s hard work continues to pay off as he was named a Pecos League All-Star as a rookie during his time with California City.
Austin has taken his playing talents and has become involved in coaching youth baseball. In 2016, Austin was the Head Baseball Instructor and the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for an elite youth sports academy in Fairbanks, Alaska. During that time, Austin also coached the Alaska Wild 16U where he successfully coached the team to a third place finish in the State of Alaska. In Ottawa, Austin coaches youth baseball and is a volunteer assistant coach for the Capital City Reds summer collegiate team.
